Meeting cool people, reading The Third Door, and my trip to NYC

What I’ve been up to 🌱

1. Took a trip to NYC for Asian Founder’s Lunar New Year celebration. Ended up turning it into a 4-day tour of the city. Special s/o Shrey for his hospitality!

2. I prioritized spending time talking with and learning from people of all industries - specifically the underlying motivations for why and how they do the things they do.

3. Went boxing for the first time! Was inspired to develop new hobbies (outside of work-related things) that would open doors to people from different walks of life.

4. I finished reading The Third Door - an incredible book that really resonates with my philosophy on crafting your own life and taking that unconventional path.

What I’ve been thinking/learning about 💭

1. Controversial value exchange (from Matt) - strong bonds are made where you least expect it (eg. a gym owner and a fitness-focused entrepreneur).

2. The similarities between sport and business - especially the tradeoff of building a talented, but proud team vs a less-talented, humble one.

3. Why are we so in a rush to get to the next stage of our life (eg. why does everyone want to graduate school in 4 years)? Is that always the right mentality?

Personal asks 🙏

1. Any intros to anyone who’s led sales and/or marketing before? I’m developing a sales strategy for a startup and would love an opportunity to talk!

2. Any intros to ambitious high-schoolers looking to intern? Am exploring the idea of hiring a personal VA for an on-call basis for a little $ and lots of learning.

What’s next for me ⚡️

1. Playing in the last few regular season games of college basketball.

2. Heads down the next few months transitioning into an expanded role at work.

3. Listening to the Founder’s Podcast (thanks Tommy for the rec!).
